What Students Are Saying
What We Do
We are an independent publisher and facilitator of innovative educational services targeting colleges, high schools and home-school communities. Our courses promote an active, engaging pedagogy where simple concepts are thoroughly explored, and where students and instructors alike are encouraged to reveal deeper insights together.
With an emphasis on the Socratic Method and an association to real-world applications, our pedagogy builds confidence, stimulates learning, improves performance and reinvigorates the fun of teaching. Along the way, positive relationships are built, lives are improved, and a community is fostered.

What We Do
Socratis brings together Instructors and Students so they can both be their best. With pedagogy that stimulates learning and the fun of teaching. With confidence and concern, cohorts are built. With a connection to the Real World, a community is fostered.
Along the way Socratis brings to life skills and concepts that improves performance. As a consequence it also improves lives.
What Instructors Are Saying
Who We Serve
4-Year Universities
There are over 3,000 4-yr institutions in the U.S. with 13.4 million students attending. Socratis would like to serve every one of these students, but our first priority is helping those that are not fully prepared for college, or their major.
Unfortunately, there’s a lot of students that need help. A recent study of student data from 900 schools estimated that 500,000 students or more enter college unable to meet minimum standards.1 Getting these students back up to speed and poised to succeed in school, work, and life is our mission. We do this by delivering courses that meet needs in Guided Pathways, Foundational and Prerequisite Courses, and Facilitated and/or Self-directed Remediation.
Community Colleges
The U.S. has more than 1,500 2-year colleges, with more than 7 million students in attendance. These schools represent some of the most exciting and diverse educational settings in the world. Students of all ages, races, backgrounds and experiences come together on a shared journey to improve the prospects of their lives.
This rich diversity does create challenges, however, as meeting the learning needs of such a varied population stretches the capacity of any instructor and institution. Socratis courses have been built for these students needs, in courses that address Guided Pathways and Foundational and Prerequisite courses.
High Schools
The 15 million students in grades 9-12 have more opportunities than ever to gain college credit while still attending high school. The value of that is obvious, but just as important is the opportunity for high school students to gain the knowledge about what it takes to be ready, and successful in a college environment.
Socratis offer the benefit of college credit along with content and tools needed to prepare high school students for the college experience. Working in partnership with local colleges we can help high schools offer their students a possible alternate score to state standardized testing and career credentials as part of the ACT WorkKeys program.
Home Schools
Students have more opportunities than ever to gain college credit while still attending high school. Socratis courses offer unique perspective and preparation for the college experience.
In partnership with local colleges Socratis courses provide college credit, possible alternate scores to state standardized testing and career credentials as part of the ACT WorkKeys program.
Innovative Program Generating Real Results
The Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL) labeled Socratis Courses a national best practice after formal review. The OCCRL has encouraged the authors to “galvanize a national movement” based on the approach and success of the course.
Why We Do It
BECAUSE IT WORKS
Socratis has been practicing and refining our pedagogy and materials with college and high school students since 2012. In that time we have been privileged to serve over 4,000 students. And we’ve been keeping score*:
- 500+ students earned an A, B, or C more than would have without
- 400 students stayed in their program than would have
- 250 high school students received college credit
And these results are just the beginning!
Success No Matter How It’s Measured
Since inception in 2012, Socratis has delivered consistent results every year.
Students taking the course are 10% more likely to persist through their programs and out-perform other students by a full letter grade.
Struggling students become good students. Good students become great students.
Course training for instructors is available and often covered by your institution’s grant funds.
